6 Things Your Cat Will Do in 2017

Happy New Year! As we leave 2016 behind, many of us are reflecting on the past year, and pondering what 2017 will bring. We prefer to leave most forecasts and predictions to others, but we do have a few ideas about what our feline friends will be doing this year. Here, a Folsom, CA vet discusses some things you can expect from Fluffy in 2017.

Chair Theft

Kitties are very opportunistic little furballs. At least once this year, you will get up for a moment, only to find Fluffy sound asleep in your spot when you return. Don’t be surprised if you get an adorable meow of protest from your pet when you move her!

Cat Fur Offerings

That pretty fur is one of kitties’ cutest attributes. Fluffy may very well think that your clothes, furniture, keyboard, and carpet all look much better with cat hair on them!

Love Bites

Kitties can be a bit temperamental at times. At some point this year, Fluffy will suddenly nip you lightly while you are petting her. Little love bites are often a sign of affection in cats, so this actually could be your pet’s quirky show of love.

Playful Antics

As we all know, kittens are super lively. Fluffy tends to calm down as she ages, but even older cats are prone to sudden bursts of silliness. Your furball will put a smile on your face with some cute, playful antics in the coming year.

Naps. Many, Many, Many Naps

There is one thing we can predict about 2017: we’re pretty sure that most of our feline buddies will sleep through a good chunk of it. Cats can sleep up to 20 hours a day! Make sure Fluffy has plenty of cozy beds to snuggle up in.

Cute Meows

Studies suggest that cats can make well over a hundred different sounds. Fluffy may cycle through several of these when she is sitting in front of her dinner bowl, demanding her supper! While some kitties are more talkative than others are, even the quietest furballs tend to voice their opinions about things they feel strongly about, like the car ride to the vet’s office.

All of us here at your Folsom, CA animal hospital want to wish you a happy and prosperous new year. Please contact us for all of your pet’s veterinary care needs.
