Our Practice

At Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom, we want to change the way animal health care is delivered. Our focus is on treating each animal as an individual, and aiming for complete wellness – body, mind, and spirit. That’s why we offer a perfect mix of traditional Western medicine along with a number of Eastern and holistic treatment options. When it comes to the care of your animal family member, we believe the more choices you have, the better.

Our team works together cohesively; we know that understanding and mutual respect are important aspects of all interactions. We truly are like family and friends, and this allows us to maintain a lighthearted and positive atmosphere that makes our clients and patients feel comfortable and at ease. The personal and day to day interactions we have with our patients and clients give us joy and fulfillment. Making a difference and helping the animals and their owners is always something that puts a smile on our faces.

We operate with a high level of professionalism, but we’re also not afraid to have fun, roll our sleeves up, and get down on the floor with our patients. We can’t help it – we love animals and it shows! It’s those wagging tails, those wet, slobbery kisses, and those deep throaty purrs that push us to always go above and beyond in everything we do. Our goal is to help each and every patient we serve enjoy as many happy, healthy years as possible.

We’ve worked hard to earn a reputation of being extremely thorough with our patients, always taking the time to discuss each situation and explain why we do what we do. We know that quality care can’t be rushed, so we always take as much time as necessary to help you make the best decisions for your family. We’ll work with you to explore all of your options and offer honest advice and recommendations, because we believe that integrity and trust are among the most important components of veterinary care.

In terms of our physical facility, we keep the clinic extremely clean and have a good system in place to help make visits with us as stress free as possible. Our hospital is open 6 days a week, offering convenient drop-off appointments, walk-ins, and emergency options in addition to our regular appointments. This makes us as available as possible, giving you the peace of mind of knowing that your pet will always receive the care he or she needs whenever the moment arises.

Our facility is also conveniently located in the same building adjacent to the Folsom Dog Resort and Training Center, a 20,000 square foot pet resort and training facility. We’re currently in the process of developing a working relationship with these wonderful folks to help bring even more benefit to our clients and patients. Soon, you’ll be able to have all of your pet care needs taken care of in one convenient location!

At Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom, our goal is to become more than just your pet’s doctor. We want to become your loyal friend. We want to be a trusted resource; a partner that will be by your side through it all. We understand the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows, and the sacrifices and rewards that come along with sharing our lives with pets, and we’re honored to join you in this amazing journey.

If you’re new to the area, recently welcomed a new animal member to your family, or you’re just in the market for an experienced vet that offers comprehensive care with a compassionate touch, look no further than Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom. Call or stop by any time – we can’t wait to meet you, and we look forward to the opportunity to partner with you for many years to come!

I have been bringing my dogs and cats to Dr. Brad Cahoon for 15 years now. I trust him and his staff to care for and diagnose my pets. They are located conveniently and open 7 days a week. I won't go anywhere else!

The Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom and El Dorado Hills has been fantastic. They have been there through some of the most difficult decisions (letting our Oreo go) to just making sure our girls are healthy (annual checkups). They are loving to our Boston and Chihuahua even when the dogs are not willing to be touched. This is a very Caring place. If you want to go somewhere that is fabulous with your fur babies this is the place.

Brought PeeWee, who lost use of his back legs, in today for the first time and were treated with calm and care. I love the Eastern approach and we all have high hopes that acupuncture, laser treatment, and some herbs will fix the hitch in his giddyup and restore his youthful step again. Fingers crossed.
