Services

Pets are more than just animals that share our homes. They are a special part of the family, and when it comes to family, you only want the very best. At Veterinary Healing Center of Fulsom, we consider it an honor to be able to assist you in helping your furry or feathered friend enjoy a long, happy and healthy life by your side. That’s why we’ve worked so hard to develop a complete system of care that combines both Western medicine with Eastern and holistic treatment options to provide the most comprehensive animal health care available.

Our services are designed to treat your pet as a whole, not just focusing on the symptoms or condition, but rather in creating an overall sense of health, balance and wellness. We accomplish this by offering a full line of traditional medical, diagnostic, surgical and dental care services, and then complementing those services with a number of integrative therapies such as acupuncture, herbal therapy and homeopathic medicine. The result is a happier, healthier pet – mind, body and spirit.

In addition to our traditional and alternative treatment options, we also make it our goal to remain on top of all the latest advancements in veterinary medical technology. This allows us to provide our clients with the most extensive list of services to better care for their cherished animal family members. For instance, our laser therapy service provides a safe, drug-free and surgery-free way to manage pain and treat a broad range of medical conditions. Our goal is to provide a long-reaching umbrella of care that will keep your pet happy, healthy and whole for as many years as possible.

Nutrition & Weight Management

Your pet’s diet and how much he or she weighs both play a significant role in his or her health and longevity. The right nutritional balance and a healthy weight can promote a better immune system, improve performance and even help to manage a number of common medical conditions, such as arthritis and diabetes. The problem is, with so many food options to choose from and little reliable information about pet weight control, these topics can be downright confusing. That’s why it’s important to work with an expert. Someone who is experienced in the complexities of companion animal nutrition and weight management and can point you in the right direction. The team at Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom is here to help! We can create an individualized plan that will bring out the best in your animal friend.

Diagnostics

Many of the illnesses and injuries our pets can suffer from cannot be easily detected on the surface of the skin. For those instance when a physical exam simply isn’t enough to effectively reach a diagnosis, we rely on certain tools and technologies, such as blood work, x-rays and ultrasound. These things give our experienced doctors the ability to examine our patients from the inside out, identifying, diagnosing and treating medical concerns in the most timely and effective manner. The sooner we are able to get to the bottom of a potential health concern for your pet, the better the chances of a positive outcome. Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom offers a complete array of diagnostic services to manage the ongoing health of our patients.

The Veterinary Healing Center in El Dorado Hills is fantastic. My cat Marshmallow and I have been with them for a year. I brought Marshmallow there for a second opinion about his breathing problems because of asthma and upper respiratory issues. He was getting injections about every 6 weeks, and those many trips to the vet were very stressful on him. Dr. McKerney, took Marshmallow off the injections - steroids and convenia – and put him on a tablet of doxycycline. She felt that his main issue is upper respiratory. Marsh has not had any breathing problems for a year, and he is happy to take his pill in a pill pocket! I have such a positive experience when Marshmallow and I visit. Marsh is not the best behaved patient, and Dr. McKerney is wonderful and is always so patient and gentle with him, and the staff is patient and gentle with him, too – I am grateful, and thankful!!

We started seeing Dr Cahoon and Dr McKerney because we needed alternative health care for our 12yr old mutt. We specifically chose Veterinary Healing Center for their knowledge and experience with Eastern Medicine applications. Our family is overjoyed for our pet and the pain relief he is now experiencing since starting his treatment plan just a few months ago. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The prices are comparable to other veterinary offices. I highly recommend their services for your pets needs.

Brought PeeWee, who lost use of his back legs, in today for the first time and were treated with calm and care. I love the Eastern approach and we all have high hopes that acupuncture, laser treatment, and some herbs will fix the hitch in his giddyup and restore his youthful step again. Fingers crossed.
