Dentistry

Clean, strong teeth and healthy gums are cornerstones to your pet’s overall health and well-being. Without regular care, your pet’s mouth can become home to everything from tartar and plaque buildup to gingivitis and dangerous bacteria which can eventually lead to more serious problems, like dental disease and even organ damage. Many pet owners are surprised to learn that lack of adequate dental care can even shorten their four-legged friend’s lifespan.

The good news is you can help your pet beat the odds and enjoy a clean, healthy mouth for life, simply by making a commitment to regular dental care. Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom offers comprehensive, professional pet dental care for both routine, preventative care as well as the treatment and management of existing oral health problems.

Our hospital is well-equipped and our team highly skilled in all aspects of pet dentistry. Whether it’s a simple exam or cleaning, or a more advanced procedure like an extraction or oral surgery, your pet will be in excellent hands with us! Even if you’ve never given your pet’s oral health a second thought, it’s never too late to start. We’ll get your loved one on the path to good dental health in no time!

Tough visit this time since my dog has Lymphoma, but got lots of support and treatment options. Been bringing my pets here since 1997 with no complaints whatsoever.

We started seeing Dr Cahoon and Dr McKerney because we needed alternative health care for our 12yr old mutt. We specifically chose Veterinary Healing Center for their knowledge and experience with Eastern Medicine applications. Our family is overjoyed for our pet and the pain relief he is now experiencing since starting his treatment plan just a few months ago. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The prices are comparable to other veterinary offices. I highly recommend their services for your pets needs.

Dr. McKerney has been treating my cockapoo, Waldo, with accutpunture for a couple of months now due to a spinal injry that resulted in paralization in the hind area. Waldo can now walk, a little wobbly. When recommended to me we did not know if Waldo would ever be able to walk again. Dr, McKerney is worth our drive (50miles) and time. She was also very thorough in reviewing all of Waldo's medical records prior to seeing him. Waldo is never expereinces any anxiety about going - that says a lot!

The Veterinary Healing Center in El Dorado Hills is fantastic. My cat Marshmallow and I have been with them for a year. I brought Marshmallow there for a second opinion about his breathing problems because of asthma and upper respiratory issues. He was getting injections about every 6 weeks, and those many trips to the vet were very stressful on him. Dr. McKerney, took Marshmallow off the injections - steroids and convenia – and put him on a tablet of doxycycline. She felt that his main issue is upper respiratory. Marsh has not had any breathing problems for a year, and he is happy to take his pill in a pill pocket! I have such a positive experience when Marshmallow and I visit. Marsh is not the best behaved patient, and Dr. McKerney is wonderful and is always so patient and gentle with him, and the staff is patient and gentle with him, too – I am grateful, and thankful!!
