Diagnostics

Many of the illnesses and injuries our pets can experience cannot be easily detected on the surface of the skin. What’s more, since our animal friends cannot speak, they can’t tell us when they’re not feeling well or show us where it hurts. For those instances when a physical exam simply isn’t enough to effectively reach a diagnosis, we rely on certain diagnostic tools and technologies. This helps give a voice to our animal companions so that we can more effectively manage their ongoing health.

Veterinary diagnostics allow our experienced doctors to examine our patients from the inside out, identifying, diagnosing, and treating medical concerns in the most timely and effective manner possible. The sooner we are able to get to the bottom of a potential health concern for your pet, the better the chances of a positive outcome.

Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom offers a complete array of routine and advanced diagnostic services, including, but not limited to:

  • Blood Work
  • Urinalysis
  • Fecal Testing
  • Digital Radiology (X-ray)
  • Ultrasound Imaging
  • Cardiology

Our hospital is outfitted with a convenient in-house laboratory, which allows us to run a wide variety of tests, achieving quick and accurate results. This is especially important in cases for which a timely diagnosis and treatment plan is critical. In most cases, we can have the answers we need before you and your pet ever even leave the exam room.

When it comes to keeping your animal family member happy and healthy, being able to stay on top of their well-being is important. The diagnostic services at Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom will help keep your companion in tip-top shape for many years to come!

The Veterinary Healing Center in El Dorado Hills is fantastic. My cat Marshmallow and I have been with them for a year. I brought Marshmallow there for a second opinion about his breathing problems because of asthma and upper respiratory issues. He was getting injections about every 6 weeks, and those many trips to the vet were very stressful on him. Dr. McKerney, took Marshmallow off the injections - steroids and convenia – and put him on a tablet of doxycycline. She felt that his main issue is upper respiratory. Marsh has not had any breathing problems for a year, and he is happy to take his pill in a pill pocket! I have such a positive experience when Marshmallow and I visit. Marsh is not the best behaved patient, and Dr. McKerney is wonderful and is always so patient and gentle with him, and the staff is patient and gentle with him, too – I am grateful, and thankful!!

Dr Brad quite literally saved our old girl's life today, simply by caring enough to keep trying to solve the mystery behind her symptoms. Thank you for not giving up on her and for helping us manage the costs of her care as well. Highly recommend this office!!

Brought PeeWee, who lost use of his back legs, in today for the first time and were treated with calm and care. I love the Eastern approach and we all have high hopes that acupuncture, laser treatment, and some herbs will fix the hitch in his giddyup and restore his youthful step again. Fingers crossed.

Dr. McKerney has been treating my cockapoo, Waldo, with accutpunture for a couple of months now due to a spinal injry that resulted in paralization in the hind area. Waldo can now walk, a little wobbly. When recommended to me we did not know if Waldo would ever be able to walk again. Dr, McKerney is worth our drive (50miles) and time. She was also very thorough in reviewing all of Waldo's medical records prior to seeing him. Waldo is never expereinces any anxiety about going - that says a lot!

Our dog Mucho was in intense pain last Christmas and having trouble walking. After a few weeks of rest and pain medication Dr Cahoon began treating him with laser and acupuncture therapy along with Chinese herbs. We are happy to report Mucho is now a happy active fellow. As we continue with his therapy, we are very grateful for this wonderful veterinary clinic.

The Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom and El Dorado Hills has been fantastic. They have been there through some of the most difficult decisions (letting our Oreo go) to just making sure our girls are healthy (annual checkups). They are loving to our Boston and Chihuahua even when the dogs are not willing to be touched. This is a very Caring place. If you want to go somewhere that is fabulous with your fur babies this is the place.
