Laser Therapy

What if there was a way that you could help your pet experience less pain and recover faster following an injury or surgical procedure? Better yet – what if that treatment option involved no drugs and was completely non-invasive? MLS laser therapy provides all of this and so much more! The practice of laser therapy has been used in human medicine for decades now, harnessing the power of laser technology to promote healing and pain control. Now, we are able to use it on our animal companions with the same incredible results!

Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills is pleased to offer veterinary laser therapy as part of our extensive list of comprehensive pet care services.  Our clinic is proud to be on the medical technological forefront by offering MLS Laser Therapy, the newest and most effective therapy laser available!

MLS Laser Therapy effectively treats pain associated with:

  • Arthritis
  • Tendonitis
  • Wound healing
  • Post-Surgical pain & swelling
  • Inflamed ears & skin
  • Lick Granuloma
  • Hip Dysplasia
  • Intervertebral Disc Disease
  • Lameness
  • …and much more!

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free alternative for managing pain. MLS Laser therapy has been cleared by the FDA for use in both the veterinary and human medical fields. It is proven safe and effective for treating many debilitating pain conditions. The best part is there are no known side-effects! Get your loved one back to pain-free health more quickly with MLS Laser Therapy!

MLS Laser Therapy uses specific wavelengths of light that have a strong anti-inflammatory, anti-edema effect on tissues that are exposed to the laser. Painful conditions accompanied by swelling or inflammation benefit from this technology. Photons of laser energy penetrate deeply into tissue and accelerate cellular reproduction and growth. As a result of exposure to the MLS Laser, the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles repair themselves faster. As inflammation is reduced pain subsides very quickly. In simple terms, laser energy kick-starts the healing process, thereby speeding recovery.

When a physical condition or injury affects your pet’s mobility or quality of life, there is one goal: A rapid return to every-day activities.  We have invested in the very best technology as a key component of our continuing quest to offer you the finest in health care for your pet!

Dr. McKerney has been treating my cockapoo, Waldo, with accutpunture for a couple of months now due to a spinal injry that resulted in paralization in the hind area. Waldo can now walk, a little wobbly. When recommended to me we did not know if Waldo would ever be able to walk again. Dr, McKerney is worth our drive (50miles) and time. She was also very thorough in reviewing all of Waldo's medical records prior to seeing him. Waldo is never expereinces any anxiety about going - that says a lot!

Our dog Mucho was in intense pain last Christmas and having trouble walking. After a few weeks of rest and pain medication Dr Cahoon began treating him with laser and acupuncture therapy along with Chinese herbs. We are happy to report Mucho is now a happy active fellow. As we continue with his therapy, we are very grateful for this wonderful veterinary clinic.

I'm very happy with Veterinary Healing Center of El Dorado Hills. They have treated both my dogs, and have specialized their treatment to their individual needs. I appreciate the fact they are interested in what's best for the dog, not what I've experienced with other clinicians.

We have been taking our Labrador to The Veterinary Healing Center for almost two years to treat her with eastern medicine/procedures for radiating pain from her neck to down her front leg. After about 6 acupuncture treatments and cervical formula powder supplements we saw a remarkable improvement! She went from limping and barely able to climb stairs to running around the yard and jumping into the pool! She was like a brand new dog! We continue with monthly maintenance treatments and we couldn’t be happier with the results! We now take our English Golden Retriever puppy there for checkups!

The Veterinary Healing Center of Folsom and El Dorado Hills has been fantastic. They have been there through some of the most difficult decisions (letting our Oreo go) to just making sure our girls are healthy (annual checkups). They are loving to our Boston and Chihuahua even when the dogs are not willing to be touched. This is a very Caring place. If you want to go somewhere that is fabulous with your fur babies this is the place.
